El-Rufai sons...Mohammed Bello and Bashir feduing.

By Kingston Magare 29.8.2026

Detained former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai’s sons Bashir and Mohammed Bello El-Rufai are feuding over political and personal choices, and this is tearing the family apart.
In a series of posts on X social media platform on Saturday Bashir accused his elder brother Mohammed Bello who is member of the House of Representatives of abusing alcohol and cocaine.
The cause of the public outburst by the younger El-Rufai from his submissions could be linked to the support by Mohammed Bello who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency for Kaduna State governor Uba Sanni whom the family believe is one of those witch hunting their father. El-Rufai helped Uba Sani to become governor, but he has since teamed up with the ruling party and President Bola Tinubu.
Also from posts Bashir seems to be upset that Mohammed Bello was interfering in his own personal affairs.
Basir wrote: “I have a useless excuse for a brother, with his bony-ass face coated with an unknown white substance around his nostrils every night.
“That is your member in the House, representing the whole populace, but prefers alcohol and cocaine. Yes, you.”
He added that despite his brother having decamped from the All Progressives Congress to join the African Democratic Congress was still romancing with Uba Sani.
“Stuck with Uba Sani until he realized he was being dumped then suddenly remembered family loyalty and moved to ADC. Where has he been since?”
“Purely serving his interest, when people like us were countering the towel governor, the bastard was nowhere…hiding, eating and cleaning his mouth. This same idiot asked me to pipe down on criticism of his former boss.”
Reactions on X.
@LarreyDaCryp: “Bashir inherited his father’s sharp and reckless mouth. Their greatest weakness is the very weapon they wield so carelessly, their mouths. With their mouths, they will talk themselves into their own destruction.”
@Signor50: “Family wahala don enter timeline again. When brothers start dragging each other over politics and personal matters on X, everybody else just collects popcorn. Better they settle this one off the internet before it gets worse.
@haddeyolide : “Really? So there is an alcoholic in the family and uncle El-Rufai has not delivered him up to the Sharia panel to judge as it ought to be commanded by the most Holy Prophet.”
@Joshmustbeheard: ” Whatsoever a man soweth, he shall reap. The El Rufais are getting humiliated and falling apart. This family tormented/maimed the good people of southern Kaduna and cracked down on opposing voices. Glad it’s their anointed candidate who’s dealing with them. May he rot in jail.”
@HeIsJayjam: “Elrufai was a fine administrator but it seems he failed as a father.”
@Pharmacio001: ” El-Rufai has now spent almost 200 days behind bars, a situation that should concern anyone who believes in due process and the rule of law.
“But what is happening within the family is becoming equally disturbing. Bashir El-Rufai has publicly accused his brother, Bello El-Rufai, of drug and alcohol use. Whatever disagreements exist between the brothers, bringing such deeply personal allegations into the public domain at a moment when their father is detained is deeply unfortunate.”
