The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has arrested four people over the alleged demolition of a classroom at Unguwa Uku Primary School in Tarauni Local Government Area of the state.
The chairman of the commission, Malam Saidu Yahaya, said the investigation followed a complaint lodged by some residents of the area over the alleged destruction of the classroom.
According to Yahaya, preliminary findings indicated that the school’s head teacher allegedly collaborated with some members of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) and the Education Secretary of Tarauni Local Government Area to demolish the classroom and sell the iron rods and roofing materials without obtaining approval from the relevant authorities.
He said four suspects had been arrested in connection with the matter, adding that they would be arraigned in court after the conclusion of the investigation.
