President Bola Tinubu has not changed the list of his Presidential Campaign Council list, following the criticism of its composition, the All-Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified.
APC national publicity secretary Felix Morka made the clarification saying there was no decision yet to drop some of the names that have caused public concern.
He said, “It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced.”
“Nobody will give any list at the moment. But if there is any reason to update it, it would be announced properly.”
Opposition figures and even APC members have raised alarm on the list which has former government officials and individuals indicted for corruption.
Meanwhile, speaking on the controversial list 2023 APC Southeast spokesperson for Tinubu/Shettima Campaign, Denge Josef Onoh, urged the President to remake the list.
He said the 2027 Campaign Council had little representation from the APC loyalists  with political strength and depth.
“With the strict exception of only two persons who possess genuine fire and strategic depth, the current media team completely lacks the political tenacity and intellectual grit to face the opposition’s sophisticated PR machinery,” Onoh said.
He also added that APC loyalists from the Southeast were overlooked in the composition of the list.
“Mr. President, do not let the short-sighted selfishness of a few handlers ruin the future of your administration. You cannot win a national re-election by shrinking your support base and telling an entire region they have no stake in your campaign,” he said.
