N600m donation from Tinubu drives Sheikh Jingir to make more Muslim-Muslim ticket “jingle”

Plateau-based Islamic cleric, Yahaya Jingir, is all out for a Muslim-Muslim ticket ahead of the 2027 presidential elections because he allegedly received a N600m donation from President Bola Tinubu and others.
Sheikh Jingir during a mass wedding ceremony in Kano cursed at anyone who would not support President Bola Tinubu and his running mate Kassim Shetta urging Muslims to use their superior numbers to outdo Christians. His remarks caused a national outrage, but he stood by his words.
A viral video circulating on X social media indicated that Sheikh Jingir started his Muslim-Muslim ticket jingle of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) after receiving the donations from Ibrahim Masari, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, and Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni. The N600m donation according was in support of Jingir-led religious university project.
“I, too, have given ₦300 million, and my brother, the Governor of Yobe State, has also given ₦300 million, bringing the total to ₦600 million. Give us the account details so we can transfer the money right now,” Mr Masari could heard on the video.
Sheikh Jingir thanked the President and the governor for their donation and while closing his remarks he shouted “Muslim-Muslim” adding, “May Allah bring peace to Nigeria and peace to the Muslim world. And for those who are saying we are cheating in the name of Islam, may Allah open their eyes and guide them to Islam.”
