African Action Congress presidential candidate and social activist Omoleye Sowore has knocked David Adeleke a.k.a Davido for frolicking with Federal Capital Territory minister, Nyesom Wike a few days after the Osun governorship elections.
Davido was in company of his uncle Ademola Adeleke who on August 15 won a second term in office, despite a truck load of All Progressive Congress top officials and governors who were stomping for their candidate, Bola Oyebamiji to beat Adeleke by all means. Wike boasted that Adeleke was lucky he was there in Osogbo to run things for the APC.
But on Thursday Davido and governor Adeleke were making joke of all that happened after several people were killed in the buildup to the election.
Sowore described them as political hustlers, wondering why the singer was “genuflecting before Nyesom Wike” despite the killing of Osun residents during the election period.
“Nigerian political hustlers will deceive the public, and the gullible will swallow the deception whole,” Sowore wrote on his X social media platform
“Here is the loud and lousy @davido genuflecting before Nyesom Wike @GovWike, barely a week after their ‘agreement is agreement’ election politics in Osun, a contest marred by deadly violence and the loss of scores of lives.
“Behind all the public grandstanding, insults, and manufactured outrage, these political actors know exactly where their interests converge.
“Dissemblers. Gerrymanderers. Carpetbaggers. Political hustlers. Lying machines. When their interests are at stake, the masks come off.”
Meanwhile special assistant on digital media to Edo State governor Monday Okpebholo, Apostle Kassy Chukwu, has warned Davido not come to the State.
“You have been banned from coming to Edo State to perform. We don’t want to see you in Edo again,” he said.
“Edo youths are angry. They said if they catch you again, nobody should bring Davido to come and perform in any place again in Edo State,” he said.
Davido had dissed governor Okpebholo about releasing his West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result in the heat of the campaign for the Osun State elections. According to Mr. Chukwu the Afrobeats star was disrespectful to the governor and his family.
