Afrobeats star David Adeleke a.k.a Davido has ruled out participating in Nigerian politics as long as, according to him remains evil.
Davido has had relatives like Isiaka Adeleke and presently Ademola Jackson Adeleke who last Saturday won re-election as the governor of Osun State after a rancorous campaign.
Davido was loud and fired up in the run up to the election; reflecting on what transpired at the weekend he wrote on his X social media platform: “Nigerian politics is evil and I don’t want to be a part of it till God helps us.”
Commenting on his far-reaching activities to help his uncle win a second term, Davido said he did what he had to do to support a member of his family.
“I brought no one. No one defended me. I backed my family on my own. I have done my job,”
Davido became a target of derision by All Progressives Congress governors Like Monday Okpebholo of Edo State and Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, following his call for peaceful free and fair election in Osun.
At the long Mr. Adeleke beat the APC pampered candidate Bola Oyebamiji with a margin of 66, 252 votes. He scored 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes.
