Afrobeats star singer David Adeleke a.k.a Davido has sent a message to US President Donald Trump to perhaps help caution President Bola Tinubu and his All-Progressive Congress, who are bent on defeating his uncle Ademola Adeleke.
Davido posted on X social media drawing the attention of Mr. Trump who has soft spot for the President Tinubu to alleged intimidation of voters, schemes to rig and violence ahead of the Saturday August 15 election.
“President Donald Trump, I am calling your attention to the situation in Osun State, Nigeria, as we approach the election.
“There are growing concerns about tension and the possibility of violence, intimidation, or disruption of the democratic process. Osun people deserve to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely, peacefully, and without fear.
“I appeal to the United States and the international community to pay close attention to the election and encourage all relevant authorities to ensure that every voter is protected and every vote is respected.
“We do not want bloodshed. We do not want intimidation. We want peace, transparency, and a free and fair election. @realDonaldTrump.
In a follow up post Davido raised an alarm on threats of violence by Senator Francis Ade Fadahunsi representing Osun East…quoting the Senator Davido wrote: “From now on, whenever you see Accord members, kill them. I authorise you to kill them. They have wives and children too. This is a Federal Government election. On election day, even if they come with voters’ card, we won’t allow them to vote.”
Governor Adeleke is locked in a battle for the soul of Osun State with Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji the APC candidate sponsored by Adegboyega Oyetola who is related to President Tinubu. There have been reports of killings, intimidation of Osun government officials by the police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. President Tinubu distanced himself from the rascality of the Federal government agencies.
