Mojtaba Khomeini... Iran's Supreme Leader... not seen in public after US air strike.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is unable to recover from the injury he sustained following a US-Israeli air strike at the heart of the Iranian regime on February 28, 2026.
The strike killed his father Ali Khameni, his mother, wife and some of their children. According to reports by IranWire on Friday, Mojtaba’s condition is getting worse. Since he succeeded his father as the third Supreme Leader of Iran in March he has not been seen in public due to the grave injuries he suffered. However, he has only issued written statements since then, with no photos or videos released, drawing criticism as the “cardboard Ayatollah.”
Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian was quoted by the outlet saying: “Mojtaba is in a very critical state and has had no contact with cabinet members.”
President Pezeshkian had said in a state TV interview on August 5, “Communication with the Supreme Leader is currently very difficult,” adding, “His existence gives us reassurance.
Speculations have circulated that the U.S. The Department of Defense assessed his appearance was too damaged for public appearances. In April, reports claimed he was receiving treatment while unconscious. Last month, during Ali Khamenei’s funeral, there were claims that Mojtaba wanted to attend but was restrained by the Revolutionary Guard.
