An Australian right-wing politician has admitted to texting “my job is boring. Should we change?” during a meeting. However, he denies that the message was sent to a prostitute.
Mark Parton – leader of the right-wing Liberal Party in the Canberra region – was accused this week of sending the message to a prostitute, according to local media.
“And fuck, my job is boring. Should we change?” the politician wrote during a committee meeting in July, according to the Canberra Times.
Parton initially denied the entire story, calling it a smear campaign. On Thursday, he admitted to reporters that he had sent the text message. He would not say to whom, but denied that it was to a sex worker.
However, he stated that whoever he was texting was nobody’s business.
“To be honest, I’m not sure that they’re really anybody’s business other than the sender and the receiver.”
