Kidnap victims.

Finally, freedom came the way of the 176 citizens kidnapped by bandits from the Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State.
There was no information how and when the victims who were taken on February 3, 2026 were released on Wednesday but the Kwara State government said in a Facebook post: “Alihamdulillaah and kudos to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, security forces, and everyone who played a role in this huge feat. We are grateful!”
Video circulating on line show community members chanting praises to God as vehicles and motorcyles moving the victims to safety moved towards Woro from Wawa in Niger State.
The member representing Gwanabe/Gweria/Bani/Adena Constituency of Kaiama Local Government in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Saidu Baba Ahmed, confirmed the release.
“Yes, the Woro kidnap victims have been released. I’m very, very excited about this development. We give thanks to President Bola Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and our security operatives,” the lawmaker said.
Last week their captors had reportedly threatened to marry off the beautiful ones among them and kill off the ugly one if the government does not move fast with their ransom demand. It was not clear whether money exchanged hands for their freedom or it was military force that was used in the rescue.
