Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has denied he has any rift with his English club Wolves.
On Monday Wolves manager Cesar Peixoto had told him not to train with the first team, but Arokodare wouldn’t comply and the training was called off for the day. On Tuesday security was beefed up at the Wolves Compton Park training ground to prevent the player from gaining access to the facility.
However, posting on his Instagram social media platform on Thursday, the 25-year-old player who is likely to move to a new club in the summer said he wouldn’t put up such behaviour as being portrayed.
“Throughout my career, I have always taken great pride in conducting myself professionally and maintaining the highest professional standards,” he wrote
“My commitment has always been to prepare myself as well as possible so that I can contribute to my team-mates and the club whenever I am called upon.
“I remain under contract with Wolves, and my only intention is to fulfil my responsibilities professionally by training, doing my job, and contributing to the team in accordance with that contract.”
Arokodare was happy to join Wolves last summer, but it seems the romance with the relegated club seems to have come to an end. Wolves reportedly block a loan move to Torino and have not been keen to entertain transfer talks from Florentina that have showed some interest.
Other clubs linked to the player include Genoa and Ajax Amsterdam.
