The main actor in the alleged fake government agency Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi failed to appear in a Federal High Court Tuesday to face trial on charges of impersonation and forgery.
Mr. Adeyemi was meant to take his plea, but when the case was mentioned before presiding judge Justice Mohammed Umar, the controversial figure was nowhere to be found. However, two lawyers announced their appearance and indicated they were ready to represent him before the court.
However, Justice Umar issued a bench warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest following an oral application made by the police lawyer and prosecutor, Wisdom Madaki.
“This is the fifth time this case is coming up, and all the adjournments have been at the instance of the defendant,” Madaki lamented.
The Police is prosecuting Mr. Adeyemi who alleged that he paid N400m to be appointed as director-general of the PFIPC to Hon Femi Gbajabiamila the chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu. He is facing an eight-count charge in the case that has suffered several adjournments since it was filed in November 2025.
Hon. Gbajabiamila denied the allegations, saying the PFIPC does not exists as a government agency. Adeyemi pointed to the fact that PFIPC was captured in the Federal 2026 budget, casting casting doubts in government’s claim the agency was fake. He alleged that trouble started between him and Hon Gbajabiamila when he refused to part with 48 percent take off grant for the agency.
He said the presidency only came with the idea of fake agency just to discredit him in the eyes of the public.
Speaking on Monday from his hiding place in an interview with Channels TV, Mr. Adeyemi claimed that his life was in danger
“I’m ready to show my face, but I’m only fearing for my life because I have it on good authority that my life is in danger,” he said, alleging that there had been multiple attempts on his life but did not disclose further details or identify those allegedly behind the attacks.
