Nigeria’s Super Falcons Monday started their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with nine players reporting to camp in Casablanca, Morocco ahead of the tournament billed for July 25-August 16.
Some of the players include captain Rasheedat Ajibade, veteran striker Assisat Oshoala. The Super Falcons are expected to begin training in the coming days and play some friendly matches as they begin the defence of the 2024 title.
Head coach, Justine Madugu unveiled a 25-player squad for the competition last Friday.
The Super Falcons are expected to move to the Rabat venue of their group matches on the eve of the tournament.
The defending champions will face Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt in Group C.
They will face the Scorchers of Malawi in their opening fixture at the Al Madina Stadium, Rabat on Tuesday, 28 August.
