Pop star Taylor Swift paid a hefty sum of $160,000 for the use of the Madison Square Garden, New York for her wedding to Travis Kelce.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani made the disclosure after Swift a billionaire and her American football longtime boyfriend Kelce both 36, tied the knots at the iconic venue on July 3. The event shut down the streets of Manhattan with police overstretched to ensure there were no issues.
“Taylor Swift has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” Mamdani revealed when asked how the Grammy-winner was compensating for police overtime.
“That was a permit that was finalized, I think, in just the days before the event itself,” he added.
According to reports the wedding cost about $20 million and welcomed roughly 1,000 attendees. On the big day, a parade of black SUVs, Escalades, buses and Ubers dropped lined 31st street to drop off the star-studded guest list, which included celebrities like Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Lopez, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise and Zoë Kravitz.
