The Ogun State Police Command said they are digging into the circumstances surround the deaths of veteran broadcaster Mrs Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard.
Mrs. Oyesiku a retired Ogun State Television employee and her security were found dead in the early hours of Sunday at Oyesiku’s residence in Agodo community, located along the Abeokuta-Siun-Sagamu Expressway in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area. There were marks of violence suggesting that the duo were attacked and murdered in cold blood.
Ogun State police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi, said detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene after the police was alerted.
“Police detectives were immediately deployed to the scene, where preliminary assessment revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance.
“During a thorough search of the premises, the corpse of the security guard was discovered within the security post, while the body of Ms. Oyesiku was later found inside her apartment.
“The victim’s vehicle was also observed missing from the premises.”
Police said the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, has directed investigators to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the killings.
“An intensive investigation is ongoing to unravel the facts, track down and apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act, while ensuring that all those involved are brought to justice.”
The police also extended condolences to Oyesiku’s family, Ogun State Television, members of the media profession and others affected by the tragedy.
