Arsenal have debunked reports they tabled €50m plus Viktor Gyokeres to secure Julian Alvarez transfer from Atletico Madrid.
Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, had reported that Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have agreed to let the deal sail through for the Argentine born striker. But according to TEAMtalk, Arsenal have no such deal in place, even as they are interested in signing the player.
This is just as Barcelona who are interested in signing the player are preparing another bid of €135m after Atletico Madrid turned down their first offer.
The offer would also include a series of variables that could take the total transfer fee to €150m.
Barcelona remain convinced Atletico will eventually be willing to negotiate a transfer but believe they will have to wait until Alvarez’s involvement at World Cup 2026 is over.
The La Liga Champions see Alvarez as permanent replacement for Robert Lewandowski and are ready to go the extra mile to sign him, but they have been met with a wall of resistance from the Metropolitano boardroom.
