A Nigerian businessman with all his documents intact has been ordered to leave South Africa immediately by protesting citizens who told him they do not want any foreigner to run business in their country.
The businessman was seen on a viral video by NTU Zuma TV arguing with protesters who were telling him to leave right away whether he is legal or not, because they do not want him to run his business in South Africa.
“I’m ready to leave if the South Africa government ask me to, I have all my documents I pay my taxes for 13 years now,” said the Nigerian man as the protesters put him under more pressure.
“I have almost 30 South Africans working in his shop what will be their fate if I close down the business, anyway I’m tired of all this harassment, If some can buy off the shop or I have someone who will manage it, I am ready to leave.”
“When the Chinese were running this shop, they used to have one worker or two workers.
“But since I started running this shop, I created an opportunity for about 20-something to 30-something South Africans who are working here.”
Protesting South Africans have given foreigners till June 30 to leave their country, and they have continued to protest from city to city.
Protesters in the video told the Nigerian man, “We don’t want any foreigner to run any business here, including you… Today, you close it.”
Nigeria has been evacuating about 1000 Nigerians who have registered to leave the country, 258 were airlifted last week Thursday and another batch is expected in on Monday next week.
