Edo State governor Monday Okpebholo on Sunday took Nigeria’s insecurity challenge to the LoveWorld Church a.k.a Christ Embassy in Benin City.
Okpebholo who has been accused of failing to address the spate of kidnappings, killing and raping of women in some Edo north communities tabled a prayer request against violent crimes and terror across the country.
“This country does not belong to kidnappers. No individual or group should hold the nation captive for personal or political interests. As elections draw closer, kidnapping has become a growing concern,” Okpebholo stated.
“However, with the prayers of God’s people and collective efforts, we believe these challenges will be overcome.”
He also called for prayers for peace, prosperity, good governance, and economic recovery in Nigeria.
He urged Nigerians to pray for President Bola Tinubu for God to grant him wisdom to tackle the social and economic problems facing the country.
The officiating pastor, Moses Olayemi, led the congregation in prayers for Nigeria, its leaders, local government areas, the economy, and communities.
