President Bola Tinubu has been accused of rigging his own All Progressive Congress primary elections even though there was no strong contender running against him.
Tinubu was reported to have won the nationwide APC vote with 10.9 million, but according to opposition parties and civil rights groups, that number is exaggerated since APC members nationwide do not match the figure.
The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, jumped into the debate accusing Tinubu of manipulating the APC presidential primaries.
In a video circulating on social media, the cleric criticized the outcome of the APC primary and questioned the credibility of the process that returned the president as the party’s flagbearer.
“Tinubu is very corrupt, he’s so used to rigging that he rigged his own unopposed primaries,” Apostle Suleman said while preaching a sermon.
Apostle Suleman in previous statements had not hidden his distaste for President Tinubu quest for a second term when he had not been able to steer the country away from the rough seas of insecurity and economic hardships. He urged Tinubu to bow out of the 2027 contest to allow credible Nigerians to mount the saddle of leadership.
