Osimhen...leaving Turkey or staying put?

By our reporter 2.6.2026
Once again, another summer transfer window is here, and top striker Victor Osimhen is dominating the headlines like he has done for three seasons.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle set the ball rolling when he claimed that Osimhen needed time out of the national team to sort out his future. Though Osimhen denied, reports in Spain and England say Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have made approaches to his club Galatasaray.
Manchester United, Real Madrid are other top clubs said to be showing interest in signing the player who for two seasons has held Turkey spellbound with his performances.
Though according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano there are no discussions ongoing between Galatasaray and the various clubs, things are bound to get interesting till the end of the transfer window for Osimhen.
Galatasaray have made it clear they would sell their top striker, but it would be up to Osimhen to decide which way he wants to go. And if he does decide to leave, a fee in the region of €150m must be on the table.
Only clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea could fork out such an amount without blinking. Osimhen would be attracted by the lure to play big time football in Europe and go far in the Champions League. It remains to be seen if he would stay back in Istanbul till 2029 when his current deal expires.
