Following a purported leaked audio of President Bola Tinubu threatening to unleash terror in the Southeast and other incriminating statements allegedly posted by Martins Otse a.k.a Very Dark Man, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga has called for the arrest and imprisonment of the social activist.
The audio leak from all indications was AI-generated and could not be traced to any of VDM’s social media handles, yet Mr. Onanuga writing on his X social media platform stated: “This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu. This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform.”
The said video was posted by an X user identified as Aneex with the caption: “How do you really convince someone who has already decided and believes in their mind that this is actually Asiwaju’s voice? What kind of cheap propaganda is this? VDM knows that Igbos are highly emotional people, and that’s why he enjoys riding on their emotions.”
However, some X users doubted the veracity of the video as they posted an original video made by VDM criticising Tinubu’s penchant for borrowing to fund his government despite removing subsidy.
The AI generated audio leak was super imposed on this video making look like it was VDM who posted it online.
Meanwhile VDM who is in China on a business trip has fired back at presidential Mr. Onanugu.
“You are very stupid old man, Im not insulting you, look up to the meaning of stupid you will understand what I mean.
“I will be back in Nigeria, and it is up to you to prove that I am responsible for the post.
“He who alleges must prove that is what the law says.
“APC and President Tinubu are trying to set me up for criticising the President. He is incompetent.
