Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said his political ally Peter Obi is the best man for the job of being Nigeria’s President come 2027.
Kwankwanso who is tipped to be vice presidential candidate alongside Obi on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress said during a chat with Global TV Thursday that the former Anambra State governor was the popular choice of the party and would do a better job than incumbent President Bola Tinubu.
“Yes, that is our assessment, and I still believe that” Kwankwanso stated.
He said Obi was unanimously selected to be NDC presidential candidate after extensive meetings and consultations across the country.
“Let me say that when we joined the NDC, we invited all our leaders from the six geopolitical zones for consultations. We sat down and looked at the situation as it were. The party, in its wisdom, decided to zone the presidential ticket to the South.
“We looked across the South — not necessarily just the Southeast — all three zones. We looked from bottom to top, and we realised that Peter Obi is the best candidate,” Kwankwaso said.
