Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa said he would welcome Jose Mourinho’s appointment as manager of the club next season.
Mourinho has been linked to a return to the club he left 13 years ago and club president Florentino Perez is said to be in contact with the controversial Portugues born coach.
“For me, as a former [Madrid] player and as a Madridista, Jose Mourinho is number one. He’s one of ours,” Arbeloa said before Sunday’s game against Sevilla.
“If he comes back next year, I’ll be very happy to see him back home.”
According to reports by Marca Mourinho will take charge of Real Madrid. Mourinho is the “Chosen One” with president Florentino Perez of the belief that he is the only one capable of restoring order to a fractured dressing room.
Also transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that a deal is in offing.
“Real Madrid have Jose Mourinho’s full green light since last week and the deal is expected to be completed very soon,” Romano reports.
“Mou never had any doubts, also never created issues in initial discussions about next steps.
“He’s super excited by this second Real Madrid chapter.”
These hurdles are, however, expected to be relatively minor in the scheme of things.
