Veteran actor turned politician Desmond Elliot has apologised to his political godfather Femi Gbajabiamila for pursuing what went against the interests of All Progressives Congress top echelon.
Recently Hon Gbajabiamila who is chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu disclosed that he was almost kicked out by his boss following an upheaving in the Lagos House of Assembly in which Desmond Elliot was allegedly actively involved.
According to sources President Tinubu was miffed by attempts by Lagos lawmakers to remove Speaker of the House Mudashiru Obasa who is an ally of Tinubu the king maker in Lagos politics, and he made his feelings known to Gbajabiamila.
Elliot speak during a chat on TVC’s “Your View” addressed the issue with an apology to Hon Gbajabiamila who is a stalwart in the Surulere Constituency I, which Elliot represents.
“To err is human, to forgive is divine. So, I’m sorry, my daddy, if I’ve offended you in any way,” Elliot said.
Elliot also extended an apology to what he called the “matriarch of Surulere”.
“To the matriarch of Surulere, mama, I’m sorry if I’ve offended you,” he said.
Elliot admitted that Gbajabiamila is his guiding light in politics.
“I’m not saying, oh, yes, media will come out, oh yes, Desmond begs again. Yes, because he’s my egbon. And I grew up learning everything I knew in politics through him,” he said.
