Amnesty International said President Bola Tinubu’s government inability to stop persistence terror attacks and killing of citizens in Plateau State is a major cause for concern.
The Human rights organisation, said in a statement against the background of recent killings in Ngbra-Zongo community in the Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, which left 12 people dead, that Tinubu had continued to lie about security situation, while people get killed every day.
“Plateau State is increasingly becoming unsafe, with attacks on both rural and urban communities forcing people to be living in constant fear of the next attack. Many communities are dotted with mass graves of people killed inside their homes.
“The utter failure of President Bola Tinubu’s government to address widespread insecurity is costing lives. While the government of Tinubu is claiming to be tackling the endemic security crisis, the death toll tells a different story.
“The Nigerian authorities have failed the people of Plateau State again and again. Frequent attacks by gunmen have deprived thousands of people of their rights to life, physical integrity, liberty, freedom of movement and access to livelihoods.”
On Palm Sunday terror attacks Anguwan Rukuba community in Jos North claimed the lives of more than 30 people, recently another terror attack killed 12 people and the community members holding funeral for the victims were also attacked and some of them shot dead.
