The police in Lagos said they have launched an investigation with a view to arrest the killers of a bride’s father and hype-man during a wedding recently in the Ikotun area of Lagos.
According to reports the bride’s father identified as 54-year-old Durosimi Anthony Taiwo and the 30-year-old hype- man simply identified as Victor, were shot and killed when gunmen suspected to be cultists crashed into the wedding held at 4B Oviawe Street, off Awosika Street, Governor’s Road Ikotun last weekend.
They dragged out the hype-man and were beating him when the Mr. Anthony Taiwo intervened and pleaded for his release, but in an instant the gang members opened fire on both men.
Speaking on the incident Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said: “The Command is aware of the incident, no arrest has been made, but the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos State for thorough investigation and we are yet to ascertain the reason for the attack.
“We will get to the root of this when we make the arrest.”
