Chelsea is in bad shape after starting the season on a promising note, but with four games to go, there seem to be no sign of reprieve.
On Monday night they fell 3-1 at Stamford Bridge to a Nottingham Forest’s rotated team and for Joao Pedro one player who fired up Chelsea in their Club World Cup victorious runs in 2025, everyone involved with the club need to step up.
“We need to improve…Everyone needs to step up, me included. We always talk to each other to find a way to win games. Last week we beat Leeds, this week it didn’t happen. We need to find a way to be consistent.
“I think the motivation is always there. We still need to fight for every point, every game, and in the end, we can see what we can achieve.”
Chelsea will play Liverpool on Saturday, then on May 16 take on Manchester City before facing Tottenham and Sunderland. Chelsea with 48 points are ninth on the table.
Meanwhile Chelsea have listed former Barcelona manager Xavi as one of the likely replacements for Liam Rosenior. Others include Xabi Alonso, Porto coach Francesco Farioli and Como boss Cesc Fabregas
Xavi’s credentials make him an appealing option. The 46-year-old guided Barcelona to the La Liga title during his three-year spell at Camp Nou before leaving the club in 2024.
