Presidential aspirants Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwanso are being expected to unveil their new political platform ahead of the 2027 elections after pulling out of the African Democratic Congress on Monday.
Obi and Kwankwanso are reported to have gone into an alliance that help their ambitions, this is with the hope of winning support from Nigerians in their quest to unseat President Bola Tinubu who seem to be unpopular with majority of Nigerians.
The Obidient Movement and the Kwankwasiya Movement have reportedly morphed into Obi/Kwankwanso Movement after a meeting in Abuja on Saturday. There speculations the duo might be declaring for the Nigeria Democratic Party. On Sunday, Obi and Kwankwanso were seen at the Abuja residence of former Bayelsa State governor Seriake Dickson who is a chieftain of the NDC.
“From Monday, when our leaders (Obi and Kwankwaso) declare the platform on which they will run, I want to tell you that one or two things will happen,” said Buba Galadima secretary of the New Nigeria Peoples Party Board of Trustees.
He said the legal battles in the ADC will likely remain unresolved, hence the decision to OK movement to seek a new platform.
“You go to the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court tells you to go back to the court of first instance, the High Court. Can that be done before the end of May? And if it cannot be done successfully, can the ADC have a candidate?” Galadima asked.
