Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is keen to hire former coach Jose Mourinho, but this seems to be a hard sell to the players.
Mourinho, former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, Mauricio Pochettino, Didier Deschamps, and Argentine national team coach Lionel Scaloni are the names being discussed in Real Madrid circles, but according to Gonzalo Álvarez, a journalist for Cadena SER, the players see Klopp as a better fit to lead a new era for the club.
“Mourinho is a ticking time bomb, and in a locker room where some players act a certain way and others are selfish, a guy like him could come in and clash with them. And they know it,” said Gonzalo Álvarez.
Meanwhile speaking on the possibility of the ‘Special One’ returning to Madrid, La Liga president Javier Tebas said: “If that’s what Real Madrid and its management decide, it will be good for Real Madrid in this case. And Mourinho is always a show, a spectacle, and that’s good for LaLiga.”
