Premier League title chasers Arsenal have set their sights on star striker Victor Osimhen and have sounded out his club Galatasaray for a possible transfer deal in the summer.
According to reports by goal.com, Arsenal’s chief scout Andrea Berta was in Istanbul Sunday to watch the derby clash between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. Osimhen scored the first of the three goals that gave his club all three points.
Arsenal see Osimhen as the striker who could deliver for them after Viktor Gyokeres failed to live up to expectations. The Gunners are also interested in Baris Alper Yilmaz, and Berta is said to have held preliminary talks with Galatasaray officials to understand the contractual situation of the club’s top assets.
However, other clubs such Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also have their eyes on Osimhen whose contract with Galatasaray runs till 2029. It was gathered that he has reached an understanding with the Galatasaray hierarchy, he could move in the summer, if good offers came his way.
The lure to play for the big clubs in Europe would be too much for Osimhen to resist and he is believed to have prepared his mind for a possible transfer in the summer even as his heart still remains with fans of Galatasaray.
