African Democratic Congress, national chairman David Mark, has accused President Bola Tinubu of deliberately destroying opposition parties because he is afraid of contesting free and fair elections.
Mark who was speaking at a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s decision not recognise him and Rauf Aregbesola as leaders of the party.
Mark said that Tinubu who claimed to be a democrat was the architect of the problems in the opposition parties.
“If you are convinced that you have done well for the people who voted for you, why are you afraid of a free, fair, and transparent electoral contest.
“If you are indeed the democrat that you claim to be, why are you bent on destroying all opposition political parties?” he asked.
He added that Tinubu’s party the All Progressive Congress dominates the political scene yet he is still bent on strangulating other parties.
“With 90% of the National Assembly and over 30 of Nigeria’s 36 Governors in the APC, President Tinubu, what are you afraid of?”
