Nigeria’s globally acclaimed singer Temilade Openiyi, a.k.a Tems, said all she wants in her life is to get married to a God-Fearing man.
Tems who won a Grammy Award with “Love Me Jeje” believes that only a God-fearing man could sustain a marriage while it last. Speaking in an interview with media personality Angie Martinez, Tems said: “My partner has to be a God-fearing man. Because why would you truly love me if you don’t have anyone that you answer to?
“If you’re not accountable to anyone, how could you choose to love and keep loving me for the rest of our lives?
“If you’re the god of your life, why would you love me forever? You could just discard me anytime you want. But marriage is something that makes you better as a human being.
“It shouldn’t be about only love, it’s about compatibility. It’s about whether a relationship makes you a better person, like it evolves you. Because marriage is a whole another level, it’s supposed to bring out the hard times.”
