A lawyer identified as Barrister Abdulsalam Ginsau from Kano has tragically died after being trapped in the elevator of a hotel in Abuja.
Though circumstances surrounding the incident remain sketchy it was gathered that the elevator got stuck following a power outage.
Former federal lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani confirmed the incident in a post on his X handle.
He wrote, “The case of Barrister Abdulsalam Ginsau from Kano is very pathetic. He was trapped in an Abuja hotel elevator, and he suffocated to death.
“Could it be that the power supplying the lift ceased midway, or the lift had technical issues or was just a tragedy of fate?
May his soul rest in peace, Amen.”
There hasn’t been any confirmation of the incident which occurred on Tuesday by police nor has the concerned hotel made any statement.
