Nigeria and Jordan settled for a 2-2 draw in Tuesday night’s international friendly at the Antalya Stadium in Antalya Turkey.
The highpoint of the game was midfielder Alex Iwobi getting a red card following an altercation with a Jordanian player who had fouled him.
Coach Eric Chelle made six changes to the starting lineup and Jordan determined to prove they are worth opponents opened scoring in 6th minute when Francis Uzoho failed to deal with a shot by Mousa Al-Taamari.
However, the Super Eagles responded in the 26th minute when Moses Simon pounced on a rebound from Ademola Lookman’s blocked shot at goal.
Defender Emmanuel Fernandez scored his first international goal in second appearance for the Super Eagles just before the break. Fernandez made his first start.
The game descended into a feisty contest in second half. Jordan, levelled up in the 77th minute with a Mohammad Al Daoud goal.
In the 90th minute Iwobi received his marching in what to the climax of a frustrating evening for him.
On Friday the Super Eagles beat Iran in the first of the friendly. Iran and Jordan used the match to strengthen their hands ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
