Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has unfollowed fellow actress Funke Akindele who allegedly snubbed her during the premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s flick “The Return of Arinzo,” on Sunday.
Abraham had walked over to Akindele and greeted at the event, she even tapped her shoulder and called her name, but Akindele looked the other way to the embarrassment of Abraham.
“I have unfollowed her; God forbid bad things. If I ever greet her again that means I’m a bastard,” Abraham posted on her Instagram social media platform.
Abraham and Akindele are two Nollywood heavyweights who command a respectable box office earning figures. The snubbed by Akindele has been linked to a growing rivalry between the duo as they struggle to outdo each other at the box office.
A recent take on earnings by veteran filmmaker Kunle Afolayan drew contrasting reactions from Abraham and Akindele. They both have a no love lost relationship, but the snub by Akindele is seen by Nollywood watchers as an extreme reaction.
Afolayan in February disclosed that Akindele called him on the phone to register her displeasure on his comments on film production and promotions during an interview on Arise TV.
“She called, and she said, ‘I know you don’t like me, but don’t mention my name in your interviews,’ she was yelling, and she dropped the phone after that,” Afolayan said.
