Senegalese football fans to stay much longer in Morocco, Appeal Court push hearing to April 13
Senegalese football fans facing trial in Morocco for hooliganising will remain in the country for much longer as the Rabat Court of Appeal has shifted the hearing to April 13.
The fans who had been sentenced by a local court to various terms ranging from three months to one year. The Rabat Court of Appeal was supposed to hear their case on March 30 but a request by an Algerian fan who was also sentenced brought the delay.
Eighteeen Senegalese fans and one Algerian were arrested for hooliganism during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) final held in January 18 in RabatMorocco.
The Senegalese Secretary of State emphasized that they will continue to benefit from the support of their legal team, as well as diplomatic and consular assistance in Morocco.
This latest adjournment follows a previous delay in the appeal hearing, which was postponed at the defense attorneys’ request to allow for case preparation.
