Heavily armed bandits in an operation that lasted over two hours raided the Jeri community in Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State, going from house to house to disposes residents of cash, phones and cattle worth millions of naira. There were no reports of deaths or kidnap of citizens.
Writing on his X social media platform Friday security analyst Bakatsine stated that the bandits went on challenged in the incident.
“Bandits carried out a house-to-house raid in Jeri community, Kusada LGA of Katsina State, operating for nearly two hours,” he wrote.
“Phones, cash and cattle worth millions were taken.”
However, the incident has raised fresh concerns about security in the area, especially in light of recent efforts to restore peace in parts of Katsina State.
Bakatsine noted that the attack is coming just weeks after a peace deal was reportedly reached with bandits in Kankia Local Government Area.
“This incident raises fresh concerns about the effectiveness of the peace deal struck with bandits in Kankia LGA just weeks ago,” he said.
