Tracy Ohiri an Ebonyi State businesswoman, has withdrawn the allegations of sexual harassment and unpaid contract services she levelled against Minister of Works Mr. Dave Umahi.
Mrs. Ohiri who spoke in video posted online said she took the decision to end the pestering of the former Ebonyi State governor to pay up for services she rendered, after consultation with her family, friends and legal team.
In the heat of the back and forth between her and Umahi, she was arrested and interrogated by the Police in Abuja in the presence of the Works Minister who had ordered her arrest. Umahi denied the allegations, he said her accusations were politically motivated.
“I apologise to Engineer Dave Umahi for the embarrassment this allegation may have caused him and his family,” she said.
“I sincerely apologise to his family, to my own family, friends and everyone who felt caught and embarrassed with what happened.”
“I apologise if the allegations have been magnified and taken out of context,” she added.
On the issue of an alleged unpaid contract, the businesswoman acknowledged that there was no formally signed agreement between her and the minister.
“Although the job was done and delivered to his aides, they might have used the material for campaign purposes without informing him, and without him knowing about it,” she said.
“My family has decided to move on from this matter, and we ask the public to respect our decision.”
But the public may never get to know what transpired between the duo. The police ought to have investigation her claims and if found to be true, the minister held accounatble and if found to false Ohiri made to face defamation charges.
