Liverpool captain Vigil van Dijk said there is still everything to play for the second leg round of 16 clash against Galatasaray at Anfield on Wednesday.
He said with robust defending that will keep Galatasary striker Victor Osimhen quiet and attacking that will put the Turkish champions under pressure, Liverpool can cancel the 1-0 advatage and win the game.
Osimhen set up the goal scored by Mario Lemina and what could have been a second goal scored by Osimhen was ruled offside at the Rams Park. Liverpool also had a goal of their own ruled out for a percieved hand ball by Ibrahima Konate.
“We have to show that we want and deserve to go through, first and foremost, in the way we play, defend and attack, the aim is to keep their dangerous striker quiet,” said van Dijk.
“We have to fight, we have to deserve it. We have to earn the next round.
“Next week obviously is the decider. The matter of fact is that we’re at home, I think there’s only our fans there, so hopefully it’s going to be an amazing evening positively for us.”
