It’s been one year since legendary athletics coach Harrison Momah passed on, and his family and friends continue to miss his absence.
Coach Momah died in March 2025 at 83 and the great Nigerian athletes he touched their lives in a special way have kept his memory alive. Momah originally from Agbor in Delta State spent all his life in Kwara State coaching and grooming athletes many of whom won laurels for Nigeria at international events.
“His type is rare in Nigerian track and field, I cannot see any track and field coach who has his kind of passion and dedication,” said Taiwo Aladefa one the great Nigerian athletes discovered by coach Momah.
“We will continue to feel his absence because he was more than just a coach. He was a father figure to many of us.”
Also, his wife and young kids said they missed him dearly, most especially the love and care he had always showered on them.
“Words are not enough to say how much we missed our dad, he was a pillar of support, his love, care and words of encouragement,” said Precious Momah, the senior of his two lovely daughters.
