Claims by the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike that he was from a rich background has been debunked by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze.
Chief Eze said Wike lied when he claimed in Channels Television’s Politics Today chat that he drove a Mercedes Benz to school and his father was a general manager of several companies.
“Trying to claim how rich his father was when poverty that radiated his family was as strong as the direct ray of sun, is denying his background,” Eze said in a statement
“His father, if he was alive, would be disappointed in his act of self-denial to justify his lavish living with public funds. Not minding that his father disowned him because of his character and if not for his friend’s father who assisted him by paying his school fees, Nigerians would have been spared of having such a charlatan in public service.”

Wike was responding to questions about source of his wealth, while chasting former governor of Rivers State Rotimi Chibuike Ameachi for joining the newly formed coalition African Democratic Party.
On Sunday Wike also lambasted members of the coaliton saying they have failed while in office and have nothing to offer Nigerians.
But Wike was told to look into the mirror by Paul Ibe a media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
“The land-grabbing, 40-year-old whiskey-guzzling minister of the FCT staggered into church not to seek forgiveness but to turn the altar of the Most High into a political soapbox,” said Mr. Ibe in a statement.
“Has Wike forgotten so soon how he came to Atiku Abubakar with Makinde and others to beg to be handed the vice-presidential ticket in 2023?”
“God is not mocked. The altar is not a podium for propaganda. And the day of reckoning is not far off,” he said.
