As activities hot up for the contest for membership of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria board, coach Solomon Aliyu is doubling his efforts to clinch the ticket.
The former 110m hurdler reiterated his commitment to be a resourceful member of the AFN board and most of all a strong voice for coaches and technical officials.
“We are making all the contacts and leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to be on board.
“So many coaches and technical officials are on the same page with me in our drive to reposition Nigerian athletics,” Aliyu who is the Association of Athletics Coaches of Nigeria president stated.
He dismissed speculations he has plans to drop out of the race before the coaches and technical officials’ election to be held during the National Sports Festival starting May 16 in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
“I’m still very much in the race, I never told anyone I wouldn’t be running nor have I negotiated with anyone I would be stepping aside for them.
“We can’t be distracted in our ambition to fix Nigeria athletics.”
