Senate president Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan have been barred by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja from making press statements or granting any press interview with regards to a suit filed by Akpoti-Uduaghan, challeging her suspension from the National Assembly.
The gag order was slammed on both parties to case by Justice Binta Nyako on Friday who was assigned to the case following the recusal of Justice Egwuatu had, on March 25.
During the hearing counsel to Senator Akpabio Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), told the court that Akpoti-Uduaghan, has spoken about the case on TV intervies on many occasion an action he said were sub judice and a slight to the court’s authority.
Justice Nyako agreed with him and urge both parties from making public statements, press interview and also making social media posts about the case. She adjourned to May 12 for further hearing.
