Super Eagles and AC Milan attacking midfielder will miss four weeks of action after MRI scan carried out has revealed a lesion of the left femoral biceps.
Chukwueze got injured in Milan’s 1-1 draw against Roma in December, he made an attempt for goal but clutched his hamstrings in pain. He was left out of Milan’s trip to Saudi Arabia for the Italian Super Cup Tuesday.
The player was a target for Arsenal as a possible replacement for injured Bukayo Saka who has been ruled for up to three months with the same hamstring injury. Arsenal are now looking else to find a cover for their star player.
Chukwueze was reported to have his mind made up on leaving the San Siro because of lack of game time and Milan were ready to let him go. He would now be staying at the club for the rest of the season.
