Manchester United are hoping to sign out of favour Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku in the January 2025 window.
Reports by L’Equipe said the French attacker is unhappy at Stamford Bridge after being overlooked by coach Enzo Maresca and he is ready to move. Chelsea also are keen to let him go if the price is right.
Maresca has preference for Nicolas Jackson in the striking position, Cole Palmer in the central midfield, with Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto at the flanks. Nkunkun can play in all positions.
Nkunku also faces stiff competition from the likes of Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk when Maresca chooses to rest and rotate.
Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in a £52m deal in 2023. But his first few months was marred by injuries, however, despite showing his scoring prowess in the conference league and cup competitions, he has only managed a few Premier League games this season.
Nkunku has scored six goals in the Conference League and three goals in the League Cup. Overall, his 10 goals across all competitions this year have come from just 688 minutes.
